Long Weekend

Its finally Friday. Hurray for the long weekend. I plan to enjoy it with my family and friends.
Its my families annual beans, cornbread and fried potatoes in the woods, with the beans being cooked over the fire all day.
I'm not sure what started it but its something that has been a few years going.

AJ is doing well, he is recovering good from his hospital visit and his sickness. Lets hope he doesn't get anything at all but if he does I hope he is fully recovered from this fiasco.

I would like to ask for a few prayers and thought to the families of these wonderful people.

First BJ, BJ is having leg / foot surgery on Sept 6 at Riley Hospital in Indy. Him and AJ has pictures on here together.
Blaine- Brad, AJ and I are thinking about you and although we can't be there please know our thoughts and prayers are with you, BJ and your family at this time. We want a call as soon as things are calmed down and you know he is OKAY. If you need ANYTHING let us know. We love you both.

Secondly Christ Thomas, she has her own blog www.christithomas.blogspot.com. We pray that her mom - Angela and sister - Shayla get to be with Christi and her dad - Shayne safely and have a wonderful visit. Your in our prayers.

Thirdly Austin Akin, he has his own website also www.austinakin.blogspot.com. Austin is a little younger than AJ but boy he is cute. We pray he stays healthy and enjoys being a little boy.

I took AJ to the dr and she has said that he is better. He has a touch of the flu, and she said that it will be about 2 to 3 weeks before he is back to 100%. She said that he was very sick and he needs recovery time. But the sickness was an internal virus. That is all they can tell me.
He is sleeping a little better. And loves to be outside even though he is sick.
Wow can you believe how old we become. I mean it seems like yesterday I was graduating to now I have been out for almost 10 years and my cutest little MAN is now 17 months. Time flies.
Erica started college last monday and loves it. She also started her new job this Monday and she loves it.

Sick Son

Wow, ear infections and strep throat are a dreaded thing in our house. AJ seems to have both often. Since school has started back up I can't wait to see what gets brought to AJ now. FLU, sore throats, strep throat, you name is he has had it all last school season.
Aggrivation why parents send sick kids to school is beyond me. AJ has had it rough with illnesses since he has been born. Chicken pox, stomach surgery, flu, strep throat, ear infections. I just hope as he gets older the sickness stays away.
But with him feeling sick it is horrible. He wants to be held, and he cries there is nothing you really can do when you don't know what is wrong or when he can't tell you. So you try to get by until you can get to the dr. Last night after he went to the dr he laid around and napped. Although, AJ and mom got the bed, dad slept on the couch as so I didn't have to get up, and AJ would wake up move closer to me and lay back down. He was up every 20 minutes, he was burning up with fever, and was just so hot. I couldn't stand to have his hot body against me, but he was asleep and so it could be dealt with.
Medicine time is a favorite at our house, he fights with you until he taste it and then he wants more when it is gone.
Hopefully he will be over it soon and he will be back to his normal self. Playing, jabbering and making messes.
Be sure keep him in your thoughts, also be sure to keep Austin in your thoughts and keep your fingers crossed his CT scan reveals a clean cancer free bill of health.
